As the Clinical Director for the Department of Dentistry at BronxCare Health Systems, Dr. Ubu has built an extraordinary legacy of service and leadership. Since joining BronxCare, she has held numerous roles that showcase her versatility and commitment, including:
- Co-Director of the General Practice Residency Program (2013–2020)
- Site Supervising Attending (2012–2019)
- Clinical Site Director (2023–2024)
- Course Director for Evidence-Based Dentistry and Research (since 2008)
Dr. Ubu has been instrumental in shaping a dynamic, evidence-based curriculum that spans across dental disciplines, ensuring that residents are equipped with the tools and knowledge to thrive in a rapidly evolving field. Her leadership played a pivotal role in leading BronxCare’s residency program through CODA accreditation, a milestone that underscores her commitment to excellence.
Her passion for research is equally impactful. As Coordinator of Research for the Dental Department, Dr. Ubu has fostered a culture of inquiry and innovation, presenting her work at national conferences and advancing the field of evidence-based dentistry.

She serves on critical committees, including the Institutional Review Board, Graduate Medical Education Committee, and Medical Executive Board at BronxCare Health Systems. Dr. Ubu continues to shape the next generation of dental professionals. Her ability to bridge academia and clinical practice makes her an invaluable asset to her students and colleagues alike.

Before joining BronxCare, Dr. Ubu honed her skills in private practice, gaining firsthand experience that informs her work as an educator and mentor. She earned her DDS from New York University College of Dentistry and her MPH from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, a combination that reflects her dual commitment to clinical excellence and public health.

Words can barely capture the immense impact Dr. Ubu has had on my life, both professionally and personally. She has been so much more than a mentor – she is a guiding light, a source of unwavering support, and someone who believes in me even when I don’t believe in myself. Her exceptional clinical expertise and teaching skills continue to shape me today. Her emotional and spiritual guidance that I’ll forever be grateful for. She offered tough love when I needed it most, helping me navigate the challenges of not one, but two residency programs with strength and resilience.
It is my absolute privilege to know her, and an even greater honor to call her more than a mentor – she has become a true role model and friend. She has dedicated so much to those around her, and this recognition is so richly deserved.

Dr Ubu, is as compassionate as she is diligent and determined. She works tirelessly to accomplish her goals, focused on seeing her dreams come to pass. Her progress is always fueled be her love for her fellowman, and the desire to contribute to others’ wellbeing. My life has been enriched by her wisdom and the hope she has placed in her Savior, Jesus Christ. I am blessed to have known her as a true friend over the past 20 years.

Dr. Ubu is past due for her contributions to dental education. She is a beautiful example of what it means to use your gifts in a way that is Christ-like.
